Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this website earn me a commission. Here is exactly how that works and what it does not change.

The short version

I am a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme. Where I recommend a product, the link to it is usually an affiliate link, which means if you buy through it I earn a small commission from Amazon. It costs you nothing extra: the price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to Amazon directly.

What it does not change

This is the part that matters, so I will be blunt about it. A commission does not buy a recommendation. No brand pays me to be mentioned, no brand sees anything before it goes up, and nobody has any say over what I write. If a popular product is a waste of money, that is what the page says.

Every product I link to also carries the honest drawbacks alongside the reasons to buy it, because a recommendation with nothing wrong in it is an advert. If I could only make a page pay by leaving out the annoying bits, I would rather the page did not pay.

What I am and am not claiming

I am qualified to spray professional weedkiller, and the advice here comes from that plus reading the product labels properly. What I do not do is pretend to have run comparison tests I have not run. Where a page names a specific product, it says plainly what the basis is: the published specification, read against what the label actually requires, plus the themes that come up repeatedly in what buyers report.

Where I quote something owners report, it is labelled as that rather than dressed up as my own testing. Prices are shown with the month I saw them, because prices move and a number with no date on it is worthless.

How to avoid the links entirely

If you would rather I did not earn anything from your purchase, that is completely fine and no hard feelings. Note the product name, search for it yourself, and buy it wherever you like. The advice on every page works exactly the same either way, and nothing on this website is hidden behind a link.
