Can you spray weeds when it is raining?

No, and it is worth waiting for a dry spell. Rain in the few hours after spraying washes the treatment off the leaves before the weed has taken it in, so it barely works and you are left with living weeds. If the weather is against us I will move your job to a dry day.

For a spray to do its job it needs a few dry hours on the leaves so the weed can draw it down into the root. A downpour soon after treatment rinses most of it straight off the paving, which wastes the treatment and means the weeds carry on regardless. That is the opposite of what you are paying for.

Heavy rain is the obvious problem, but even spraying onto weeds that are already soaking wet, or just before a shower is due, gives a weaker result. So I keep an eye on the forecast and pick a dry window. If that means nudging your slot by a day or two, I would always rather do that than turn up, spray in poor conditions and have to come back.

This is also why booking is usually within a week rather than same-day, it lets me line jobs up around the weather. Send a photo of your drive, path or patio and your postcode, and I will sort a dry day that works. I cover Leicestershire.
